Grab some snacks, it’s movie time at CCS! Come and watching “Jesus Revolution” The true story about Chuck Smith and a community of teenage hippies in Southern California, and how God began in them a national spiritual awakening that resulted in what we now refer to as the Calvary Chapel movement of the early 1970s and beyond.
*Children will continue with their regular program, while youth will participate in the movie night.
The Jesus Revolution took place in the 60s when the country was so divided. The message of this movie is very significant for us today. We hope this movie will be a challenge to us, to pray for a movement of God today, right here where we are! What ventures of faith is the Holy Spirit leading us to take in courageously sharing the gospel of God’s redeeming love?
In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a JESUS REVOLUTION.
